Last week, the LAGLCC represented the Los Angeles LGBTQ business community at the 2018 NGLCC International Business & Leadership Conference in Philadelphia. While there we engaged with stakeholders from around the world to discuss advancements in LGBTQ economic vitality. We heard from political, supplier diversity, small business and chamber leaders invested in creating greater economic opportunities for our business communities.  And oh, yeah, we also heard from Martha Stewart!

The LGBTQ community continues to be a powerful driver in global economic markets and the opportunities for LGBT Business Enterprises are increasing - expect to hear from the LAGLCC about LGBT Business Enterprise opportunities with more industries, corporations and even the Super Bowl but these opportunities are only available to you if you are certified so what are you waiting for, learn more about certification and start the process of getting certified today.

The LAGLCC would like to thank our LAGLCC members who attended the conference and we'd like to congratulate those of you who were able to schedule matchmaking sessions with supplier diversity professionals. We would also like to thank our corporate partners who "walk the talk" and showed up to the conference to identify LGBT diverse suppliers for upcoming projects. Pictured above is LAGLCC Executive Director Marquita Thomas with Tarrance Frierson of Southern California Edison, Emma Maxey of Golden State Water Company, Ed Simon of California American Water and Vaughn Williams III from Southern California Edison enjoying some downtime after a nighttime reception.

And of course, we would be remiss if we did not thank the NGLCC for putting on yet another extraordinary conference and for adding another level of depth to the conference this year with their opening plenary, LGBTUnity: The Intersection of Race, Gender & Sexual Orientation.
